Payment and Shopping Cart FAQs |
How much do photo prints and note cards cost? Our price list is here. [back] Which credit cards do you accept? We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover through PayPal. You don't have to be a member of PayPal in order to pay with one of the major credit cards. [back] Do I have to go through PayPal? If you plan to pay with a major credit card, our shopping cart will automatically take you to PayPal. PayPal has an excellent reputation for providing a high level of security to credit card transactions, and using PayPal incurs no additional cost. Please note that the charge will appear on your credit card bill as PayPal *Photos. However, we understand you may not feel comfortable paying online with a credit card, so we also accept personal checks, cashiers checks, and money orders. Please submit your order through the shopping cart, and send your payment to: CompuGoddess LLC Thanks! [back] Why am I getting the message "cookies must be enabled"? The short form of the answer is that your computer must accept a cookie so that the shopping cart will be able to keep track of what you've added to it. This is a good thing (you really can't shop online without cookies), but cookies have gotten a bad reputation because a number of companies have used them to track folks' travels around the Web. Those cookies are called third-party cookies, which means they're coming from a website other than the one a viewer is currently visiting. NewMexicoPhotos.com uses first-party cookies, which means the cookies are coming specifically from the website a visitor is currently viewing. In this case, the cookie comes from aitsafe.com, which is the service NewMexicoPhotos.com uses for its shopping cart. [back] That's the short form answer to the last question?!? What's the long form (or dare we ask)? The Internet is considered a packet-switched network. Essentially, what that means is that when you ask for a web page, your computer sends a bunch of small packets of data to that page's web server; the web server then fulfills your page request by sending a bunch of packets back to your computer. Once there are no packets going back and forth between your computer and the web server, there is no connection between your computer and the web server. That's a lot different from a circuit-switched network, which is what phones use; on a phone call, the connection stays open until it's dropped (for instance, by someone hanging up). Since connections on the Internet don't stay open, the way they do on the phone, a cookie is what enables a web server to pick up its connection with you. Aren't you glad you asked?!? [back] How can I get in touch with you folks? Please feel free to contact us with questions, comments, and suggestions at any time. (Because email is a notoriously insecure form of communication, please do not include charge card numbers in your message.) [back] Really, email is the best way to reach us. [back] |
